OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Keep the necessary popcorn supplies close at hand: popcorn kernels, popping oil,

seasonings, popcorn kernel measuring cup, and oil measuring spoon, bowls or bags

for serving,

2. Make sure the kettle’s side arms are properly secured in the support brackets.
3. Make sure the power-supply cord is attached to the kettle’s motor receptacle.
4. Make sure the front door is in a secure, closed position. The front serving door

must be folded into place, the popcorn chamber is closed and ready for popping corn.

5. Make sure the power ON/OFF button is in the OFF position.
6. Plug the Theatre Popcorn Maker into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
7. Preheat the kettle. Press the power ON/OFF button ON. The power light will illuminate.

The kettle will begin to heat and rotate. After 3 to 5 minutes, press the power ON/OFF

button OFF.

8. Open the front door. Using the kettle’s lid handle, carefully flip the kettle lid open.

Add 1 tablespoon popping oil of your choice to the kettle. Then add 1/4 to 1/3 cup raw

popcorn kernels (standard or gourmet).

WARNING: To avoid damage to the Theatre Popcorn Maker, NEVER add more than

the recommended quantities of popcorn kernels or popping oil to the kettle.

DO NOT ADD ANYTHING BUT OIL OR POPCORN KERNELS INTO THE KETTLE.

9. Press the power ON/OFF button ON. The kettle will begin to heat and the stir will rotate.
10. After 3-4 minute, popping will begin and popped corn will spill from the kettle

into the popping chamber.

11. After popping has ceased, pull the crank handle towards the front to release the last

remaining popped kernels from the kettle.

12. Pull the front serving door out and scoop popped corn into serving bags or bowls.
13. Continue popping another batch of popcorn following the Operating Instructions

previously described.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to

repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed

by a qualified appliance repair technician.

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND, a product in Nostalgia Electrics’ Vintage Series™. This 59” tall vendor-style popcorn cart will be the hit of every party. It pops up to 24 cups of hot, fresh, kettle cooked popcorn per batch. Providing a vintage look and feel, reminiscent of silent movie houses and carnivals circa-early 1900s, the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART

with CONCESSION STAND is designed for both home and commercial use. It features a large, stainless steel kettle with a built-in stirring system and kernel catcher to keep unpopped kernels out of each perfect batch. There is a compartment in the base of the unit to store supplies, making it easy to keep the cart well stocked and organized. The other side of the base features a concession stand with three illuminated shelves to hold a variety of treats. The

1.Attach #6 Handle and Screws

to Storage Compartment door.

2.Attach #7 Concession Stand Handle and parts using directions below:

Assembly of Base Support

1.Push Handle (E) attaches onto the Concession Stand

(C) using all of the supplied #1 Screws.

2.Insert Cross Bar (J) into the square inserts on the inside of Base Support (I) and secure from below with two #2 Bolts and two #4 Flat Washers. Insert the Leg Assembly (K) over the protruding ends of the Base Support (I) and fasten four #3 Bolts and four #4 Flat Washers and four #5 Nut Caps.

3.Assemble Base Support (I) into the bottom of the Concession Stand

(C) and secure with four #2 Bolts and four #4 Flat Washers.

Assembly of Wheels

1.Insert Axle Bolt (F) into Base Support (I).

2.Put on #5 Flat Washer. Slide Wheel (G) into Axle Bolt (F) and add a second #4 Flat Washer.

3.Use Wrench (H) to tighten the #5 Nut Cup.

4.Add #4 Flat Washer, second Wheel (G), another #4 Flat Washer, and #5 Nut Cap to the other side of the Axle Bolt (F), following the directions above.

5.Use Wrench (H) to tighten the #5 Nut Cap.

Assembly of Main Unit

1.Place Main Unit (A) onto the top of the Concession Stand (C).

2.Ensure that the two inserting pins at the bottom of the Main Unit (A) line up correctly so that Main Unit (A) can be locked under the beam of the Concession Stand (C).

HOW TO OPERATE

Before first use, clean the inside of the unit by wiping with a moist, non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth and then wipe with a nonabrasive dry towel. Wipe down the inside of the Kettle and be sure it is properly placed in the brackets before starting.

1.First, find a flat surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure your cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.

2.Gather your popcorn making supplies: popcorn, seasonings, bowls or bags for holding the popcorn, cooking oil, Kernel Measuring Cup and Oil Measuring Spoon. (Kernel Measuring Cup and Oil Measuring Spoon are included with your unit).

3.Make sure Kettle is properly secured in support brackets.

4.Make sure Kettle motor is plugged in.

5.Plug in the appliance while switch is flipped to OFF position.

6.Turn appliance ON by flipping the switch on the top of the machine (see illustration above for location of switches). Allow the appliance to run 3-5 minutes to heat up Kettle.

7.Once Kettle has heated, turn unit OFF before adding ingredients.

8.Use the Oil Measuring Spoon supplied with your OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND to add 3 tablepoons of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the Kettle. For every Measuring Cup full of kernels (6 oz.), add 3 spoonfuls (3 tbsp.) of oil. For best results, light vegetable oil is recommended.

9.Add 6oz popcorn kernels to the Kettle using supplied Kernel Measuring Cup.

10.Close the door and turn unit ON. In no time at all, you will hear the popping begin. Fresh, hot popcorn will begin to burst out of the flip lids on the Kettle - just like at the theater!

11.Fill the Concession Stand shelves with your favorite candy and treats.

HELPFUL TIPS

SMOKING

If your OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART begins to smoke during cooking, it may be due to grease build up. In order to reduce smoking, make sure that you clean the inside of the Kettle between uses.

POPCORN MAKER

You can also use the popcorn maker without the Concession Stand and Base Suport.

Make sure that Main Unit is on a level surface with proper ventillation. Follow instructions for making popcorn in How to Operate section.

CLEANING &

MAINTENANCE

To protect the motor plug from getting wet, never immerse the Kettle in any liquid. Never place any parts in the dishwasher. Always wash by hand.

1.Make sure appliance is unplugged before cleaning. Unplug the outer plug to the outlet as well as the Kettle motor plug inside the Main Unit.

2.Use slightly damp, non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth to wipe down the inside and outside of Main Unit, then wipe with a non-abrasive towel to dry.

3.Unplug Kettle motor and remove Kettle from support brackets.

4.Take Kettle out of the Main Unit. After removing Kettle from Main Unit, fill ²⁄³ of Kettle with hot, soapy water.

5.Let the Kettle sit for 15 – 20 minutes to cut the grease. (time may vary – use your own judgment depending on the amount of cleaning necessary)

6.Empty water. If necessary, use the scrubber side of a cleaning sponge to scrub inside of Kettle.

7.Rinse inside carefully and dry.

8.Wipe outside of Kettle with damp cloth and dry.

Concession Stand Lights

The ON/OFF switch and battery pack for the Concession Stand is located behind the Concession Stand shelves and can be easily accessed by opening the door to the Storage Compartment. The Concession Stand lights take two AA batteries.

Batteries are not included.

The OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND makes hot, fresh, theater style popcorn anytime! Enjoy your freshly popped corn in a variety of ways:

Regular theater style popcorn – add butter and salt.

Add a pinch of sugar and salt to popcorn for a sweet kettle corn taste.

Flavored popcorn – add seasoning from any gourmet popcorn seasoning kit.

PARMESEAN POPCORN

Movie Popcorn Maker For Home

1 Gallon of Popped Corn

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

3 Green Onions, finely chopped

½ Tsp Cracked Pepper

1 Tsp Sea Salt

1 Cup Parmesean Cheese, grated (more or less

to taste)

3 Tbsps Olive Oil, heated

Pop corn kernels using the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND as directed on page 9.

Combine garlic powder, green onions, cracked pepper, sea salt and parmesean cheese. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, drizzle hot olive oil over popcorn.

Toss until well coated.

Slowly add in dry ingredients while continuously strirring popcorn until well coated.

You may also shake the dry ingredients over popcorn in a large paper or muslin bag.

½ Cup Corn Syrup

½ Cup Granulated Sugar

½ Teaspoon Salt

1 Stick of Butter, softened

Pop corn kernels using the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND as directed on page 9.

Mix corn syrup, sugar and salt together in pot and dissolve over medium heat for about 3 minutes.

Add popcorn to pot, stirring and tossing consistently until popcorn is evenly coated at low heat.

Remove from heat.

Use softened butter to form balls while popcorn mixture is still warm.

Wrap individual balls in plastic wrap, tie and store at room temperature.

CHUNKY MONKEY

1 Gallon Popcorn

1 12-oz bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

1 12-oz bag Peanut Butter Morsels

4.2 oz bag Banana Chips, broken into small pieces

11-oz bag Peanuts

Pop corn kernels using the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND as directed on page 9.

Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter morsels over stove, as packaging recommends.

Line cookie sheet with wax paper.

Toss together popcorn and banana chips.

Spread popcorn and banana chip mixture evenly over cookie sheet.

Drizzle melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over popcorn and banana chips.

Sprinkle peanuts over chocolate and peanut butter mixture.

Allow to cool.

When chocolate and peanut butter has hardened, break up the Chunky Monkey into pieces.

Can be stored in plastic freezer bags.

1 Gallon Popped Corn

1 12-oz bag SemiSweet or Dark Chocolate Chips

1¼ cup Peppermint Sticks, crushed

Pop corn kernels using the OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN CART with CONCESSION STAND as directed on page 9.

Melt chocolate chips over stove, as packaging recommends.

Line cookie sheet with wax paper.

Spread popcorn evenly over cookie sheet.

Drizzle melted chocolate over popcorn.

Sprinkle crushed peppermints over chocolate.

Allow to cool.

When chocolate has hardened, break up Popcorn Peppermint Bark into pieces.

Can be stored in plastic freezer bags.
